The defending National League West Division champions the Los Angeles Dodgers' year-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first MLB world
championship team in their franchise history will culminate during the MLB pregame ceremonies honoring the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers at Los Angeles Dodger
Stadium on Aug. 28, 2005, prior to the 1:10 p.m. PT game with the Houston Astros. For Tickets check out Los Angeles dodgers Tickets.
All living members of the great 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers have been invited to participate in that weekends festivities, along with other family members and special guests associated with one of the most famous MLB teams in history. The
former MLB Brooklyn Dodgers players invited include Tommy Lasorda, Carl Erskine, Bob Borkowski, Roger Craig, Sandy Koufax, Don Zimmer, Billy Loes, Clem Labine, Ed Roebuck, George Shuba, Johnny Podres, Duke Snider and Don Newcombe.

"The Los Angeles Dodgers are a team steeped with a rich history," said Los Angeles Dodgers Chairman and Owner Frank McCourt. "The 1955 Brooklyn club had a brilliant season and began the then Brooklyn Dodgers now the Los Angeles Dodgers incredible MLB world championship legacy. We are honored to commemorate the 50th anniversary of this great team's achievement, as these players left their mark on our MLB history."
The Los Angeles Dodgers' 50th anniversary salute (log on to order all Los

Labine, Craig, Snider, Zimmer, and Erskine served as instructors at the Los
Angeles Dodgers Adult Baseball Camp at the Dodgers team's Spring Training
facility in Vero Beach, Fla. Then on April 12, Snider threw out the ceremonial
first pitch prior to the Los Angeles Dodgers' home opener against the San
Francisco Giants.
On April 15th, the Dodgers wore "B" caps and "Brooklyn" script home jerseys, in
honor of Jackie Robinson Night, which marked the 58th anniversary of the MLB
Hall of Fame infielder breaking baseball's color barrier. Jackie Robinson was
also a member of the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers, which featured other future MBL Hall
of Famers Pee Wee Reese, Roy Campanella,and Snider among the everyday position players. The Los Angeles Dodgers' 2005 promotional calendar was also marked by several 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers-related souvenirs, including action statues honoring Koufax and Robinson. There will be a special roundtable broadcast on KFWB (980 AM) with members of the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers on Saturday, Aug. 27th. KFWB is the home of Los Angeles Dodgers baseball and broadcasts all Los Angeles Dodger games.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will wear the MLB offical "Brooklyn" throwback jerseys
for the Aug. 28th game against the Houston Astros. During pregame ceremonies,
the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers team will reunite to relive memories of a great season
that began with records of 10-0 and 22-2 and ended with its dramatic MLB World
Series victory over the New York Yankees, capped by San Diego Podres' 2-0
shutout in Game 7 at Yankee Stadium on the 4th of October.
